Founded in 1992 by two visionaries, the Cross Project is a dedicated Christian charity in Wakefield, focused on demonstrating the power and relevance of Jesus to young people.

Our Mission

Our mission is to enrich young lives through engaging lessons, pastoral support, fun clubs, and faith exploration opportunities. We aim to make Christian teachings accessible and impactful through innovative methods like using emojis, interactive games, and movie clips. Our approach ensures that young people see the relevance of Christian teachings in their daily lives.

What We Do

1. Educational Lessons: We deliver engaging and relevant RE and life lessons that bring Christian perspectives to life in schools. Our lessons are designed to be fun, engaging, and accessible, using creative tools to capture students' interest and make the stories of faith resonate.

2. Pastoral Support: Offering mentoring to help young people navigate emotional and social challenges. Our support is holistic, addressing the spiritual, emotional, and social needs of the youth. We provide both individual and group mentoring sessions to equip them with the tools to manage and overcome their difficulties.

3. Clubs: Providing safe spaces for fun and meaningful discussions through lunch and after-school clubs. These clubs offer a mix of individual and team games, along with discussions on issues important to young people. In these relaxed settings, students can build friendships and find support, helping them feel less anxious and more connected.

4. Faith Exploration: Guiding those interested in exploring faith deeper and connecting them with local church communities. Our transition work provides opportunities for young people to delve deeper into their faith and connect with church youth groups, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging.
